Here you can share your thoughts about squidoo service.Have you made a lens, what is it about?

I've made an even dozen with topics all over the board. I've got three cooking lenses, one that basically organizes my blog post, one about urban sprawl (against, BTW), one about homemade beauty products, a lensography with feeds from various sites, and three music-related lenses. Apparently I have two others that escape me at the moment!

I haven't made much and have been Google-slapped on my most popular lens. But my income for November was about 10 times what it was for October. I'm interested to see what happens next month for December. Even disregarding the money, it's been fun to create article-like lenses where I control much of the layout.

What about you?

I write on HubPages. Just joined a little over a month ago. I just signed up with Squidoo today. I am really excited. Very different layout than the Hub.
Any opinions, and any advice for a novice?

Thanks,
tDMg

Well legbamel i'm very confused about squidoo lenses.I have about 20 in different topics, but they have dropped in the rankings and are no longer available on the search pages. Can you tell me a little more about how often you update your lenses, how much new info you post (do you change the existing info) and things like that.

Thanks,
Ivan

I usually re-write the existing intro and add something new elsewhere on the lens. The one that gets the most hits I only update every six weeks or so. It got completely kicked out of Google but Yahoo's almost made up the numbers.

One of my worst performers is the one I like the best - squidoo.com/musicality [squidoo.com/musicality] - and I make changes to that one at least once a month if not once a week (and three times in as many days as I'm tweaking some things). My Ever.com lens gets no search engine traffic because they screwed up the co-branding and it's not indexed. That drives me nuts because it's the archive for my blog, arranged by topic. Bleh.

I make squat, but I have a good time with them and I do get some traffic out to my articles, which was the point of starting there in the first place. I make money indirectly, that way.

I love Squidoo. Right now have about 20 pages, headed for 100 by Christmas 2008. I "ping" my lenses anytime I update them and I try to do that at least once a week. That seems to keep them "active and live". I also belong to a number of groups and visit other lenses and make comments on those. It does help. squidoo.com/joanadams [squidoo.com/joanadams]
